A Labyrinth Walk:

A Pilgrimage to ‘that which lives within”

Sunday August 18th 12-4pm $60

Sticks and Stones Farm Moss and Stone Chartre Labyrinth

You are on the path ~ exactly where you are meant to be right now ~ shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, healing, courage, beauty, wisdom, power, dignity, and love. Your life is a sacred journey and within the journey there is growth, discovery, change, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, learning to see clearly and deeply, accessing your intuition, dealing with challenges at every step along the way.

Historically, Labyrinths have been used as meditation and prayer tools and symbolized a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. The Labyrinth is an ancient metaphor for life’s journey to the center of your deepest self and back out into the world with a broadened understanding of who you are. It combines the imagery of the circle and spiral into a meandering, circuitous but purposeful path, leading to the center and out again. It is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place that takes you to “that which lives within.”

We will come together as a group, creating sacred space with ceremony, a guided meditation, assisting us in connecting with our intention and focus for our personal pilgrimage, followed by a labyrinth walk. Once we are all in the center of the Labyrinth, we will create a healing circle using Sound as a tool for toning our journey, followed by a closing ceremony. Bring a journal for your reflections.

Gluten Free 101

7-8 $45

RSVP a must.  Space Limited

Do you dream in gluten-free chocolate cupcake?  Do you miss the smell of fresh baked bread wafting through your home?  Is contemplating gluten-free cooking and baking more frightening than anything you can currently imagine?

Or are you considering going gluten free?  Are you struggling with the overwhelming amount of information on the Internet about gluten free food and living?   Mary Herrington will teach you the basics of the gluten free lifestyle:  What IS gluten?  What foods contain gluten? Other names for gluten.  How to read labels.  Which pre-made flours are worth your money and which aren’t.  Tips on de-glutenizing your kitchen.  Living in harmony: gluten and non-gluten in one kitchen.

Mary will be teaching a series of gluten-free classes and cooking demonstrations at the farm and this is the first. There will be treats for you to try and for purchase.

Mary Herrington is a homeschooling mother of two girls and began discovering gluten-free foods in 2009 after years of being sick.  Consultations with the top GI’s in Connecticut, nutritionists and homeopathic doctor’s finally lead her to the discovery of gluten intolerance.  During this journey, it was discovered that her children were also sensitive; leading to entire household being gluten-free.  That began her experimentation with gluten-free flours. She is someone who knew nothing about gluten-free who self-educated and through trial and error found what products work and which products don’t.  Join us for her first gluten-free class to learn gluten-free cooking tips and tricks.

Vermont’s Long Trail:  A Backpacking Odyssey

Sunday, August 25th, 2 – 3:30

Please join us on Sunday afternoon as Anne O’Regan shares tales and a slide show of her recent solo thru-hike on Vermont’s  273-mile Long Trail.  The LT is known for its rugged terrain and distinct beauty, and is the country’s oldest long-distance trail.   It travels from the Massachusetts border to Canada via the spine of the Green Mountains.  It climbs over nearly every major peak in the state including:  Glastenbury Mountain, Stratton, Killington, Mt Abraham, Mt Ellen, Camel’s Hump, Mt Mansfield and Jay Peak as it makes its way from the Massachusetts border to Canada.
This often pristine path is truly a New England gem!  Chances are, by the end of the talk you’ll be planning your own journey onto a trail this fall!
Note:  Anne previously spoke at Sticks and Stones about her 2,650-mile solo journey on the Pacific Crest Trail.
