<p>And the farm is waiting for you!  Lace up your walking shoes and come on by.</p>
<p>Take a hike through the woods, a walk at our stone and moss Chartre labyrinth or a hike on the mountain to enjoy some quiet time to reflect,  or to soak up the earth&#8217;s energy bubbling up.</p>
<p>We ask that when you visit the farm that <strong>everyone signs in</strong> at our guest book<strong> each</strong> time at the big stone barn at the front table. If you have not filled out one of <strong>Liability Release</strong> Forms, or have brought guests who have not, please do so.  (We keep them on file so you only need to do once.) We ask walkers and visitors to please contribute to our <strong>Donation Jar</strong> that helps us to continue our constant work to improve the farm,  creating a peaceful sanctuary and green environment on the 60 wooded acres as well as a gathering place for those interested in living a healthy lifestyle.</p>
<p>If you are bringing guests that are new to the farm please let them know that Sticks &amp; Stones is a <strong>SMOKE, DRUG &amp; ALCOHOL FREE FARM</strong> and we ask that all visitors respect that.</p>
<p>Interested in holding a workshop, family reunion, birthday party, fundraiser, wedding or gathering of any sorts during 2013?  It is not too early to start making plans and get your pick of dates.  You can email me at anniesands@gmail.com to discuss it!</p>

<p>On Sunday, June 23, naturalist/author &#8220;Wildman&#8221; Steve Brill will lead one of his world-famous wild food and ecology tours, followed by an improvised wild foods cooking session and meal, at the farm with Square Foot Gardener, Cook and Health Coach, Amie Hall.</p>
<p>The farm offers a wide variety of habitats—a mountain, meadows, woods, cultivated areas, and fields, and wetlands—all loaded with their associated wild plants and <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Mushrooms.Folder/Mushrooms.html">mushrooms.</a> Early summer fruits are in season now. We&#8217;ll be looking for <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Strawberry.html">wild strawberries,</a> <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Mulberries.html">mulberries,</a> sweet cherries, and <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Juneberries.html">juneberries</a> in a variety of habitats.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ll also find plenty of culinary and medicinal  herbs. <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Sassafras.html">Sassafras,</a> which tastes like root beer, grows in the woods, and <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Mullein.html">mullein,</a> a traditional herb tea for coughs, grows in fields and along the edges of trails.</p>
<p>Of course, all the common summer edible greens will be doing their things. We&#8217;ll be looking for <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Lamb%27sQuarters.html">lamb&#8217;s-quarters,</a> <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Purslane.html">purslane,</a> <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Sorrel.html">wood sorrel and sheep sorrel,</a> <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/PoorMan%27sPepper.html">poor man&#8217;s pepper,</a> common evening primrose stems, Asiatic dayflower, lady&#8217;s thumb, common mallow, and others.</p>
<p>And if there&#8217;s been lots of rain beforehand, we may also find the summer&#8217;s first wild mushrooms. <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Mushrooms.Folder/Chanterelle.html">Chanterelles,</a> <a href="http://wildmanstevebrill.com/Mushrooms.Folder/Bolete%20Overview.html">boletes,</a> russulas, chicken mushrooms, and black-staining polypores could be popping up anywhere.</p>
<p>Wear good walking shoes, bring a trowel, water bottle, back pack and paper bag.  And mosquito repellant just in case!</p>

<p>Please join us for our first Thursday evening Healthy Pot Luck dinner in 2013.  We will have them every month throughout the summer and fall on the last Thursday of each month. Come whenever you can make it between 6 and 9 pm.</p>
<p>Bring one of your favorite healthy, seasonal, (local if possible!) dinner or dessert dishes. It&#8217;s a great time to socialize and meet others with an interest in healthy eating and living. Please bring a list of ingredients for those with food sensitivities, allergies or preferences.</p>
<p>We also ask that everyone bring their own dishes, utensils and cups to the Pot Luck.</p>

At this camp your teen willmake their own wooden bow. The process of making bows and arrows isan art. Beginning with seeing the bow in an unfinished wood stave and thenslowly revealing its final shape with sharp hand tools. Every pass of the drawknife or scraper has an effect. students learn the power of their actionsreflected in their bow. Making a bow is as much a discovery of self as it is an</p>
<p>epic craftsman project. Not surprisingly hand made wooden bows are called a</p>
